2016 Beetle

The Volkswagen Beetle is a fun car to drive and look at and it has an impressive fan following. The 2016 Beetle has all the fun and appeal of Volkswagen Beetles in the past, but with some new updates and modern features. If you are looking for a compact car that is unique and fun to drive, the 2016 Volkswagen may be right for you.

New Features
There have been several changes made to the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle. One of the newest and most popular features is the 1.8T S. Automatic Post Collision braking, which is made standard on these models. The 5-speed transmission for the 1.8T and a 6-speed transmission for the 2.0-liter R-Line are also new and appreciated features. Perhaps the most noticeable change to the 2016 Beetle is the retro interior design which pays homage to the older models.

Interior and Exterior Design
The inside of the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle has spacious front seats and although the backseats are a bit more snug, there is still plenty of room. Simple additions such as a center armrest and storage bins make the Beetle a pleasure to drive. There's even a "kaeferfach" or overhead glovebox which is a throwback to older Beetles.

On the outside, the Beetle is a little larger than previous models. It still has its iconic shape and is available with an optional spoiler. The convertible Beetle is now equipped with a power-operated folding fabric top instead of a hard top.

Performance and Price
The 2016 Volkswagen Beetle is available with two engine options; the 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 170 horsepower and the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 210 horsepower. Both engines average 33 mpg and both are available with your choice of a manual or automatic transmission.

The new Beetle is affordable starting at just $20,600 for the S trim coupe. The SE coupe starts closer to $22,200, while an SEL with the 6-speed automatic starts around $26,800. Although the Beetle does not have a high resale value, it does have a long life expectancy and most owners tend to hold on to their Volkswagen Beetles for several years.

If you are attracted to the unique and fun design of the Volkswagen Beetle and think you may be ready to own one, head on over to your nearest dealership to test drive one. The 2016 Volkswagen Beetle is the perfect combination of modern features and retro style.
